Hello There Lovely Readers,
How are you all?
I’m digging you’re Quarantine-Chic look I have to say! Nice top knot! My blood is 90% tea at this stage too.
As you may know, given the current situation, a lot of peers, friends, family and hard working artists have had to endure a significant loss of work recently. Seeing this, I wanted to do what I could to help and so, I decided to curate playlists in a bid to get a few more streams, views and coverage for those affected.
I have set up Spotify and YouTube playlists that can be reached below. The plan is to provide more places where people can have their music shared and streamed and people can find new bands to fall in love with and support and hopefully ease everyone’s time in quarantine.
However small a gesture this seems, I really hope it helps in one way or another.
If you love what you hear and want to give more than a stream or a view, pop over to these artists’ websites, socials and Bandcamp profiles and anywhere else you can support them and buy their music and merch.
Also, a quick MNÁSOME update!
I decided to take a break from MNÁSOME to focus on other projects last year. I was mad stressed and we’re all learning, now more than ever, how important rest is so the blog lay dormant for a while. (In case you’re interested, those projects included setting up a singing teaching practice and working towards releasing my own music. Yay!)
Now, I feel like it’s almost time to bring MNÁSOME back into play and I am currently brainstorming ideas for a revamp and relaunch.
The aim will be relatively similar, however I want to include more people in the conversation. With this in mind I’d like to move from promoting women in music to promoting feminist acts, music and ideals within the industry. I’m still figuring out what this would look like but whaddya think?
I also want to continue to give artists a platform by putting on shows (whenever we’re allowed to) and I’d also love to run open mics where under represented and marginalised groups are welcome and feel a sense of safety and belonging and we can all just enjoy ourselves!
And that’s just the beginning of what I would like MNÁSOME to be in the future!
If you have any thoughts on this or would like to share your ideas for what YOU would like MNÁSOME to be, please get in touch with me (Sinéad, hi!) on hello@mnasome.com.
I hope everyone is keeping safe and well during this absolute shit show of a time!
Stay safe please. Stay in touch (via phone or internet). Keep supporting local art in all of its glorious forms, cos we need it!
Let’s see eachother through and hopefully I’ll see you on the other side!
Love,
Sinéad x
