MNÁSOME Is Ending…

Hi there, my name is Sinéad and I run MNÁSOME…

Well, not any more. I have decided after much deliberation to end MNÁSOME in it’s current form as a blog celebrating women in music.

It has been just over two years since MNÁSOME began and I have met and worked with so many awesome women working in music. It has been a pleasure and I am so grateful to have had the chance to be a part of everyone’s events and projects along the way. Thank you!

Also thank you to everyone who has supported MNÁSOME, to all the bands who have sent in their music, allowed me to premier singles and videos, to everyone who has interviewed for the website, and to everyone who has shared posts, followed the socials, played and attended gigs. MNÁSOME would never have existed without you. Also a big thank you to everyone who bought t shirts and merchandise. It helped keep the blog ticking over!

I have been lucky to have some fantastic contributors to the site over the last year as well. Writers, Kym Duignan, Ema Stapleton and Alice Bolger and Photographers, Alison Kenny (Yellow Lens Photography) and Ciara Brennan (SheBop Imagery). Thank you all for volunteering your time and talents!

Thank you to everyone who took part in the video interview series, the last big project I undertook as MNÁSOME. To Ciara O’Connor, Ailbhe Reddy, Niamh Casey, ELKAE and Lizzie Fitzpatrick, thank you all for sharing your time and experiences. Also a big thank you to Shannon Donoghue for filming and editing all of the videos and for her time and patience! You can watch them all here.

Here is a long list of other people supporting women in music and beyond, make sure you check it out and give them your support too.

The site and email ( will stay up, as will the socials and YouTube channel, and all trademarks will remain active. If you wish to keep track of me, (Sinéad, hi!) you can follow me on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Here’s to balanced line ups, less sexism, prejudice, bias and more respect and appreciation for musicians, artists and creatives who happen to be or choose to be women. Keep supporting women, each other, all creatives in everything they do!

To sign off, here is about eighteen hours of music made and performed by women! Enjoy! 🙂

Bye for now!
