Girls Rock Dublin have launched a crowdfunding campaign to offer scholarships to ten campers for this year’s summer camp taking place from the 3rd – 7th of July.
Girls Rock Dublin have already funded two scholarships for this year and want to bring that figure to ten in order to support applicants from socially underrepresented groups such as people from low-income backgrounds, LGBTQIA+ people, asylum seekers, refugees and those with a disability. The campaign will run until June 13th and aims to raise €1,600.
“We have had an amazing show of support from people who contributed to our
fundraiser gig and music tech workshop, all of which goes towards running our volunteer led summer camp. We would like to reach out to people now and ask them to really help make this year’s camp accessible to as many campers as possible” – Rossella Bottone, founder of Girls Rock Dublin.
The GRD rock camp provides a positive, non-competitive environment where 20 campers, aged 12-17, will learn to express themselves through a unique programme
that combines music tuition, collaborative workshops and a refreshing DIY spirit.
